This is ridiculous. NZ has made some bad immigration decisions in recent years and this is right up there. Seriously NZ govt. you are making NZ an international laughing stock.

She's one of my favorite filmmakers and has a bright future. Her work requires her to travel and I'd be shocked if she would overstay her time in New Zealand because that would hurt her ability to create and promote new films about the topics she cares about. Please reconsider.

This is a ridiculous decision. If she was going to stay anywhere why would she pick NZ!

This woman has a genuine purpose in her visit, and deserves to have her visa application accepted. I doubt there is any danger of her overstaying - our economy is not sufficiently large to warrant the prospect.

This film maker and artist is visiting our country to share her work as part of a world wide tour to promote her film. You have clearly made an error in this judgement regarding her NZ visitor's visa. Please correct this error as soon as possible.

Let her in! And tell me what the big deal would be if she did stay?

This is a totally ridiculous decision. This woman will bring valuable insights to our film production community. The arrogance of this decision is mind-blowing. Get over yourself and let her in!

It is incredible that such a respected filmmaker has been denied entry to New Zealand. Shame on Immigration NZ. Wake up and correct this mistake.

NZ immigration this is a bona fide documentary director travelling to promote her IDFA, Sundance 2016 award winning film SONITA. It's Ok you guys are not documentary makers but we are. These are amazing achievements for any documentary director and the chance to see Rohhsareh Ghaemmaghami talk about her film - PRICELESS.

This is ludicrous! Her work and film is so important (especially for young women!) and she is only coming to NZ to engage with the film community here via the Doc Edge Festival NOT to overstay. Madness. Come Mr Woodhouse, sort it out!!!

The reasons given for refusing her Visa seems small and petty minded and make me wonder if these reasons would be given for a white male visiting from a western country. Please allow this filmmaker into New Zealand to fulfil her invitation.
