It's embarrassing that Rokhsareh Ghaemmaghami has not been allowed a visa - I hope this is quickly redressed.

Flimsy excuse, thought the immigration service would have better systems in place to validate visitor visas. Google access would be a good place to start

This is very embarrassing - an obvious mistake and I hope Immigration find a way to sort this out as soon as possible.

This is irrational, unnecessary and embarrassing. Use some common sense and please sort it quickly.

Determining her intentions (to stay in Aotearoa) without weighting on the onward journey's speaking dates, makes this refusal, dubious in the extreme.

A new low - please pass on - especially all those filmies out there

This is very unfair and makes no sense when you consider Rokhsareh is on a world tour.

Not having enough ties to home country is not a good reason to deny someone a visitor's visa. This is not good international relations NZ

As a friend of Rokhsareh and the subject of her film Sonita, I believe there is no valid reason for Rokhsareh's denied visa. She is trying to spread the message to end child marriage and teach people about the power of film, nothing less.
