No one benefits from this other than the four land owners involved. The entire Lemont community was kept in the dark because the politicians involved (Sean Morrison and Toni Preckwinkle) are pandering to the donor whose contributions figured significantly in their elections. This is Illinois politics at its best, and the main reason people are fleeing the state - we are sick of being screwed by the people we elect to represent the majority's interests. The Lemont schools, park district and police and fire departments will get hit hard. This is a blatant attack on the quiet, semi-rural community residents have endeavored to create. There's something wrong when one man's or a few men's greed outweighs the welfare and wishes of 16,000+ Lemont residents.

I am opposed to this annexation as Lemont has close proximity to these parcels and can service them much more efficiently. This land has historically always been tied to Lemont and anyone with common sense can just compare where the village halls and police depts are located. Palos is overstepping on Lemont's territory. Taxpayers will be picking up redundant expenses which makes no sense with Illinois and cook county in financial crisis.

It will negatively impact our taxes, and take away our say as a town of what can be built on on this land . Please help stop this assault on our town!!!

Don't change the integrity of our town by this annex. We support our golf courses and their property. We maintain via park district and law enforcement. We do not NEED or want another town taking over what is ours!
