We, the undersigned, recommend that, in future, the principal civic event on the occasion of the election of a new Lord Mayor should be a celebration of the city to which all can contribute - an event to bring the city together as One Leicester - rather than as at present a religious service for a single religion.
We therefore call upon Leicester City Council to ensure that this begins in 2011.

About time! Leicester is a melting pot and the Mayor represents all of us not just the church crowd.

Its time to move forward and include everyone. We live in a diverse city so our events should reflect that plain and simple.
