We, the undersigned, recommend that, in future, the principal civic event on the occasion of the election of a new Lord Mayor should be a celebration of the city to which all can contribute - an event to bring the city together as One Leicester - rather than as at present a religious service for a single religion. We therefore call upon Leicester City Council to ensure that this begins in 2011.
