The hearts of the people of Trinidad and Tobago go out to Mr. Bharatt and his family. As you grieve, so do we grieve your loss. Rest in peace to Andrea, may she never be forgotten.

It has to come to the attention of the citizens of T&T that our beloved country is in dire need of serious legal reformation. Arising out of this tragic incident, one of the suspected murderers had 70 charges against him but was able to walk our streets as a free man. It is time we place emphasis on protecting those that deserve protection.

Something needs to be done by politicians and those in power to ensure that offenders are not able to walk the streets along with law abiding citizens. From an international standpoint, any criminal with as many as 70 charges would have been imprisoned. Something must be done immediately to ensure that we the citizens can feel safe and trust our legal system once more. Until swift action is taken, criminals will continue to take the judicial system as a joke.

Please sign this petition calling for those in authority to take action immediately.

The scale of this response confirms that the current judicial failures are a primary concern for the public. I am currently drafting a formal letter to the Ministry of the Attorney General to outline the specific demands for legislative review and trial prioritization.
