Legends Ranch kids to Grand Oaks

It makes no sense for the children of Legend's Ranch to attend Oak Ridge High School once Grand Oaks High School is open.

This rezoning committee needs to be challenged to come up with a better solution than they the one currently being adopted.

I agreed with the Conroe ISD Bond Referendum in 2015 as it would alleviate overcrowding into Oak Ridge HS. I also agreed with the bond as it would bring new schools in my area (Rayford Road). To now learn that the new High School -Grand Oaks HS will not include children living in Legends Ranch is infuriating. My children deserve to travel to a school less than 4 miles in distance compared to double the miles, excessive traffic, and a longer commute of 20 minutes. I don't understand how this is a discussion. GOHS is much closer, includes the students from the area (Rayford Road-Legends Ranch), and lessens the traffic traveling to ORHS. My child should attend the feeder schools in the area and not be separated upon entry into High School.

Allow Legends Ranch attending Grand Oaks High School!

Many reasons to send Legends Ranch students to Grand Oaks HS but my main reasons are not separating them from friends they've grown up with, so much closer than Oak Ridge so all transportation including cost of bussing would be less and it will affect the home values if they are not allowed to go to the school closest to their home.

There is great value in having our children attend the new high school. The impact of them attending Oakridge comes with many negatives and I hope you hear and understand our concerns. We want our children to attend the New High School!

Please keep our children with their friends. This will cause so much division and it is not right. Conroe ISD do the right thing and keep our children happy.

I echo the sentiments expressed by the others. It is unconscionable that the children of Legends Ranch may be forced to attend Oak Ridge when we are so clearly closer to Grand Oaks. This smacks of favoritism to me.

Do not separate the kids currently going to York together. The new high school his closer to Legends Ranch than Oak Ridge. The same group of kids had to go to Houser Elementary school and were not allowed to go to a closer school such as Kaufman or Ford. Do not punish the Legends Ranch kids due to the development of this area and the influx of kids in the area.

Our kids at Legends Ranch need to stay in the feeder pattern to GOHS.

Please let the Legends Ranch kids go to Grand Oaks with their friends from the same feeder schools. York should not be split, this makes no sense and could have unintended negative consequences. We voted for the bond under the impression that Legends Ranch would be going to Grand Oaks with the rest of the York feeder. This is wrong!

I petition to ensure my children in legends ranch go to the new Grand Oaks high school. I agree with my neighbors that it is a bad decision to split our children from their childhood friends. Another issue is travel time to and from school is extended, increasing chances of accidents with our young drivers. Also, bond was awarded with impression that our neighborhood would be zoned to the new school. Please weigh heavily these issues and our concerns when you make your final decision. I want my kids going to grand oaks high. I live in the legends ranch subdivision.

I am petitioning for legends ranch high school children to be zoned to Grand Oaks vs ORHS. We are much closer to GO which saves and provides safety for children traveling to/from school. It isn't right to have children go 8-9 years with same group of classmates and then be switched for high school years. We voted for the new school assuming our subdivision would be zoned to the "closest" school.....GRAND OAKS FOR LEGENDS RANCH!!!

I don't understand why anyone would zone Legends Ranch for Oak Ridge High School at is at least 15 miles compared to the new high school last 4 miles. This is not my taxes dollars going for the right choices. This is not right, unfair to our kids to even think of splitting the kids up, not to mention dangerous. Arebthe Woodland students that are closer to Oak Ridge more important than ours. Are their development more important than ours. I don't think so. My child has a right to attend the best school close to him. Stop taking my child's future away. You are supposed to make smart decisions plan and simple. There is nothing out there that can justify this stupid move

I have two children currently enrolled in CSID. The impact of this decision on our community is huge. Our kids need to feel as a part of the community they live in. Splitting a junior high is unacceptable.

Please take into consideration our location to the new high school. Legends Ranch is Much closer than it is to Oak Ridge.
