I wish for my children to go to the new Grand Oaks High School. It is closer to home, and would put my mind at ease, knowing that their commute would be much shorter than Oak Ridge.

As a realtor, I understand better than most what the affects of this zoning implicate. If we are left at ORHS then our home values will diminish significantly. The diminished home values will set into effect, an array of events that will end up negatively affecting both our county, but also our neighborhood. Diminished values mean diminished taxation, meaning less money to take care of our county. We have 1501 homes in our neighborhood alone so the financial impact will be significant. We already have the longer drive, more fuel use, more time to and from, and many other negative impacts that will continue or grow if left at ORHS. Our children will be affected on a social level as they will be severed from their classmates after leaving junior high. This can create many issues such as social anxieties, etc. We demand that we be zoned to the new HS, for these and many other reasons that I will allow to be heard at your zoning meeting Nov 28th.

The bond was supported by our community under the pretense that Legends Ranch students would continue to be zoned with their peers from York Junior High. Splitting our students from their peers would have a great negative effect on our students; especially those in grades 5-8.

I have 3 kids that I would rather send to the high school that is closer to where we live. Please don't bus them to OakRidge which is farther away.
Please consider rezoning the other CISD high schools to minimize travel times of all our kids. Let's be fair to all citizens who pay taxes.
