LEGALIZE TNR in Prince William County VA (Trap-Neuter-Release)

I have successfully TNR’d (and/or rehomed) approximately 50 cats, from the colony I have cared for for 6 years. Because of this, I have had no new kittens born and there are only about 17 cats left there. TNR works!! It makes my local shelter EXTREMELY happy for my efforts...I have kept ALL of those cats out of there!

This will foster cooperation with the public instead of driving them underground with draconian policies. You will notice a decline in population with TNR vs Catch and Kill

TNR has been shown to reduce and control colonies. Prince William County’s animal trespass laws are outdated and should be amended.

Leave the ferals be We are trying to keep them healthy and well together

Please consider changing the law to support our cats!

TNR is a public good driven by volunteers. Public policy should at least back them up, and ideally fund these efforts.

Legalize feline TNR in PW Co.!

The only humane way to control the numbers of cats born outside is to prevent kittens from ever being born. TNR does that. It should not only be legal but should be welcomed and applauded!

I tnr many strays in my area, usually off my own back. If I think they can be rehomed I get them in a rescue space or a lifetime sanctuary for feral with fiv. I have done about 10 strays that cross my garden in past 2 years, after checking for owner. Must cut this cycle of more unwanted kittens/cats. Also, it cuts down on wandering and fights. Although nice if they can be homed, I fully support tnr as a massive positive and very much needed step.

I run a cat charity Feline Friends London in London, UK. TNR is vital to stop the cat population crisis getting out of control and to prevent suffering.

As someone who has raised many litters of motherless abandoned kittens I can understand how TNR can be the answer to helping the animal population. If the ones who have animals would only keep them inside and neuter/spay then we would not have such a problem

This is the only Human Way. I believe that our County Officials will show the mercy and understanding and will help. Thanking each and every one of you.

TNR will keep feral and stray cats from reproducing, will keep them vaccinated, well fed so they don’t need to disturb wildlife and will keep these cats cared for. It is a win for everyone. Please allow this, we’ve needed this for a very long time!
