We need signatures to legalize slacklining in parks and on the Humboldt State University campus in Humboldt County. Please help!

Updates

February 1, 2014

I am currently coordinating with campus police and local park rangers to formalize a path forward for our slacklining pilot program. Send an email to the County Parks Department right now to demand they review our proposal. We need them to see that this community is ready for access.

February 1, 2014

Reaching this level of momentum proves that our community wants more access to our public parks. Post this link on your Facebook wall today and tag the local parks department to keep the pressure on.

No need to fear slacklining, you just need to take the time to understand it. Slacklining is great for the soul! :-)

Slacklining is a great way to get young and older adults active in the outdoors and challenge themselves (menally, physically, and emotionally)! This is a wonderful recreational activity all around... legalize!!!

Slacklining, when done properly, doesn't harm a soul. As slackliners we protect trees just as we protect ourselves.

Legalize slackers! We are safe and careful. Slack lining is a healthy, fun, and harmless way for students to spend time. Thanks!

When properly rigged, slacklines do no permanent damage to the trees. Don't try to regulate how tax-paying citizens enjoy THEIR public parks

As slacklining poses no danger to any of the natural elements it relies on, there is no reason to disallow it.
