Let's see our government follow through on 'fact based' arguments affecting legislation. The facts show that suppressors have legitimate lawful uses, and lets not let Hollywood affect reality.

It's a suppressor not a silencer. You cannot wear a headset in the field and the damage done to people's ears is tragic.

In my line of work, PPE's are not only mandatory but are the law! Why should the gun range be any different? Suppressors just make commen sense!

It will still make noise. Just not enough to become deaf...

It's time for the Government of Canada to recognize that sound suppressors are not silencers. They only lower sound by approx. 50 decibels out of approx. 160 for a medium caliber. The remaining 110 decibel is still very loud but much safer, for our earing.

I'm all for suppressors on centerfire long guns. Suppressors reduce recoil and muzzle blast in addition to noise. This makes it so much easier to shoot accurately. Also, at a sheltered range suppressors would be a blessing. Even with 33 npr rated ear-plugs it's nearly impossible to sit next to the guy with a braked .338 and shoot accurately at a sheltered range. In fact, I feel suppressors should be *mandatory* on sheltered ranges. While suppressors reduce noise they don't totally silence the firearm - you still need hearing protection. Also, suppressors do nothing to silence the supersonic crack of the bullet as it travels from muzzle to target. So, yes, I feel suppressors should be legal - at the very least for centerfire non-restricted long guns.

Less noise, better performance, reduced recoil .... I'm don't see anything negative. It's not like the movies you will still hear the gun. Reduces noise by 30 %.
