Let's make the Canadian government allow the use of rifle suppressors for target shooting and hunting , in many other countries suppressors are sold as non restricted to shooters and hunters by the ministries of Health. Suppressors unlike most democratic governments think, do not kill people or make people more prone to illegal activity. Knives, hammers, baseball bats do not make any noise at all and kill as many if not more people than guns. Let's make a healthy change for shooters and hunters in Canada.

It's time for the Government of Canada to recognize that sound suppressors are not silencers. They only lower sound by approx. 50 decibels out of approx. 160 for a medium caliber. The remaining 110 decibel is still very loud but much safer, for our earing.

contrary to liberal belief Im not trying to be a 'ninja assasin sniper' not that suppressors make guns 'silent' anyway, or buying a guitar makes someone eddie vanhalen..would just be nice to reduce noise & percussion for more enjoyable target shooting, and courtesy to my neighbours when controlling varmints and predators on my farm

Loud is the problem this is the solution. Most backwoods hunting and shooting in bc is in the Valleys and mountains where it can be heard ando spook farm Animals for kms and kms. Legalize silencers. It'll will increase number of local ranges and decrease range's number of complaints

If an individual is deviant enough to commit a criminal act, such as robbery or murder, will the law that makes a silencer illegal stop him from using one? Obviously not. Then what justification is there for not allowing law abiding citizens the use of this device?

This is a health and safety issue. There is no cure for deafness caused by loud noises. Ear defenders are not enough. Mufflers on motorcycles and large equipment, then why not on sporting firearms?

Legalizing suppressors would decrease the risk of tinnitus and allow for a more quiet hunting/target shooting experience with less noise pollution. This could be a great a win/win situation for both hunters/target shooters and the people that live close to or within hunting grounds or popular plinking locations.

I got tinnitus already dont need to make it worse which is whats happening, its normal around the world to hunt with suppresors to limit noise pollution affecting wildlife and people if its a matter of public safety comes first then how do other countries manage to minimize the risk? and why cant we?

It is unfortunate that the current legal stance puts Canadian hunters hearing at unnecessary risk.
