First, If it is medicinal there should be no taxes on it, after all , Big Pharma does not pay taxes on the "medicine" they sell. Second, it is a natural plant and nature cannot be patented and therefore taxed. Third the first reason this plant was outlawed was because DuPont could not handle mother nature's Hemp competition in the petroleum industry manufacture. Lets us non-renewable resources to make competitive rope and canvas...... rather than growing renewable resources to make the identical use products. Feel like saying what were they smoking but it certainly wasn't this medicinal plant.

Arkansas needs to be an early adopter, for once, in our state's history. Let's put the stone ages behind us, and let freedom ring clearly in our state's future. I suffer from mental illness and many times, this is the only relief that truly calms me and brings me to peace again. --Alan Morris

I am willing to get signatures door to door. Any way I can help get this on the ballot.

40 years and no bad effects... also have provided many jobs through the many businesses I have owned and operated. It is a right and we shouldn't be denied by statutes that are mere "color" of law.

It is so unbelievable that the old crazy propaganda from way back would have brainwashed so many for so long. I haven't smoked in a long time but since quitting, due to fear of being arrested and treated like a heroin junkie, I don't sleep well, struggle with depression and my day to day life. Yes many will abuse but many abuse alcohol and have horrible health consequences such as a close family member I had to watch die from cancer as well as the alcohol induced issues. Toward the end he started smoking a bit at night and it was the first time in 10 years he slept for more than 2 hours, which made him happier and more energetic also dropped 150 pounds with exercise after cutting the huge pain pill doses the doctors were pumping him full of making him a couch potato. It made his last months with me so wonderful. I wish our government was a representation of the people and not that of big business. Open your eyes america marijuana being illegal takes good people and turns them into criminals through our "justice system" that claims to "rehabilitate" but bankrupts them and makes them publicly shamed. Well that's my story I wanted to share. Thanks for listening. Legalize It. Tax It to make up for lost police revenue.

I'm not a smoker of marijuana, but I support the legalization of this herb. I have seen the medicinal effects assist people with disabilities and illnesses. Not to mention it has been around before Christ, and nobody has ever died from it! Legalize it. Tax it.

i think one of the only reasons that it is illegal is because of how easily people can grow it and how much is already being produced without tax. So a lot of people could get it for cheaper than the minimum tax would allow.
