We the people want to legalize marijuana for medical, and recreational use in the state of Arkansas. We believe that a substance as harmless and natural as marijuana, should not be illegal! As adults, we should have the freedom to expand our consciousnesses in a safe, and legal way. It's wrong to throw people in jail for possession of this natural substance. Over 800,000 people in the U.S alone are arrested for marijuana yearly! If it was legalized, we could tax it and more money would go to the state! If we were to legalize it all over the united states, we would generate over 9 billion dollars in state, and federal tax annually. That's money that can help our country improve! Let's face it, prohibition isn't working. People still manage to get their hands on this plant. Why not distribute it in a safer, and more organized manner that will benefit us in the long run?

40 years and no bad effects... also have provided many jobs through the many businesses I have owned and operated. It is a right and we shouldn't be denied by statutes that are mere "color" of law.
I am a Hospice RN and this would truly help the pain my terminally ill patients suffer.
I have MS and I really need for this to pass it is not to get high or feel good it is to take away the daily pain I have and to help with all my MS symptoms!!
we have been beat up, some killed, put in prison ,lives destroyed, searched without cause, sentenced in court by drunken judges, over a harmless plant, time to change the ridiculous laws!!
I'm not a smoker of marijuana, but I support the legalization of this herb. I have seen the medicinal effects assist people with disabilities and illnesses. Not to mention it has been around before Christ, and nobody has ever died from it! Legalize it. Tax it.

First, If it is medicinal there should be no taxes on it, after all , Big Pharma does not pay taxes on the "medicine" they sell. Second, it is a natural plant and nature cannot be patented and therefore taxed. Third the first reason this plant was outlawed was because DuPont could not handle mother nature's Hemp competition in the petroleum industry manufacture. Lets us non-renewable resources to make competitive rope and canvas...... rather than growing renewable resources to make the identical use products. Feel like saying what were they smoking but it certainly wasn't this medicinal plant.

Arkansas needs to be an early adopter, for once, in our state's history. Let's put the stone ages behind us, and let freedom ring clearly in our state's future. I suffer from mental illness and many times, this is the only relief that truly calms me and brings me to peace again. --Alan Morris
