My son lives in Indianapolis and works downtown. The food trucks are very popular at lunchtime and so far, their dowtown restaurants haven't lost any business. If I worked in downtown Bloomington, I would love the opportunity to grab a bite at a food truck for lunch. I rarely have a chance for a leisurely lunch at a restaurant. I want my food to be safe. But limiting access to a food truck has nothing to do with that.

Food trucks are a pop culture item now. Movies (i.e., Chef) provide them a prominent role. Smithsonian.com writes an article about their rise (How America Became a Food Truck Nation http://www.smithsonianmag.com/travel/how-america-became-a-food-truck-nation-99979799/#kV48BRgtijG5OiFu.99). Bloomington is known for its support of the arts. Why not the culinary arts as well? Give these food trucks a venue to make their mark on our culture here.

No more restrictions! Please! The people who want to grab something fast from a food truck are not the same people who want to sit down and enjoy a leisurely meal. Let them be downtown.

Food trucks are a necessary addition to Bloomington's food culture. Often they will address niche food needs and desires that established venues are unable or unwilling to address specifically.

I understand the concern about taking away from other businesses but the food trucks aren't out there 24/7 so the regular businesses still get most of the customers. Food trucks are businesses too so I don't see why they do not have equal rights.
