How Is it that Children Legally in USA are Often Forced to Leave & Denied Opportunities?

It is time that this wrong is corrected

The Hollands work very hard and have a great business have 2 hard working very academical children and are a great benefit to their local community and the USA is a better place with them in it.

It seems stupid to split up families of legal immigrants and not illegal immigrants. Where's the sense in that?

Why, when the children have had a great education in the U.S.A do they have to leave and use their knowledge in other countries????

Changes are needed to support these 'legal' kids

Equal rights for all immigrants. E2 status should be citizens after 10years

Children of parents with E2 visas should be allowed to stay in the country until they they can get their own visas

We have lived and worked legally in Maine for 13 years on E2 visa, employing US citizens, paying taxes and making a positive contribution to our much loved home town. Being here legally on a non immigrant visa, with no way to obtain a green card (ever on this visa) we are the forgotten ones. Our teenage daughter is not allowed a social security number, cannot apply for FAFSA, and will be treated as an 'International ' student by many colleges because she is not a permanent resident - even though she has lived here since age four. She is now almost 17. It is not a fair system when undocumented children fare better than those that are here legally. Our children are , in effect being penalized for being here legally. We worry constantly about our daughter being asked to leave at age 21, if she cannot find another way to stay from the limited options available.. Makes no sense at all! I hope this will be addressed, and corrected.

It is time to recognise the worth of legal immigration and the benefits to the US. My own son is unable to live with us has he has turned 21. He has just graduated with a first in Robotics and been snapped up for his specialist skills in the UK with 4 job offers in one week. He is going to look to Canada and Australia long term because they value what he can bring to their country. How ridiculous is that when his parents live and work in the US as an E2 business.

Crazy law

Having had to take both my children back to the UK as we could not keep them here legally I am desperate to help other families from going through what we have gone through. Our daughter lived here for 12 years - all her formative years were in America. She is American through and through and is devastated that she is not allowed to live here with her friends and family. It breaks my heart every day.

This is important to my family and I. Change needs to happen. Our families need to be able to stay together.

This affects my son and something needs to be done

Entirely unfair for law abiding contributing citizens

My son is 16 and desperate to work to save for college and maybe a car. He is worried that he may have to go back to the UK at age 21, all his friends and his life is here.

I have signed as i want a future for my daughter in the USA after she is 21. I want her to have the right to a part time job the same as other kids.

Most E2 visa holders are the kind of model and enterprising citizens the country should want. We don't want a free ride.

My son ages out on the 13th of November 2016 he has lived here since he was 8, he is scared and confused as to why he has to leave. It is heartbreaking.

Please give our kids a chance to contribute to society!
