Maintain dedicated left turn lanes at Wayne & Dale

Mansfield road is a residential street where many houses do not have garages and parking overflows onto the street. In Winter, the street is very crowded with abandoned cards and snow piles puching into the right of way. We survive because we usually get one lane operable. even in non-snow months cars must zig and zag past parked vehicles and pedestrians. Any plan to permanently push traffic into Mansfield is a terrible idea and should not be studied as worthwhile. KEEP THE LEFT TURN LANE for the purple line on Wayne Avenue!

The left lanes are already established at the Dale intersection, and Dale is the only crossroad nearby with two lanes each way. Diverting traffic to Dartmouth or Mansfield will create safety issues due to the narrower lanes.

This is a very bad idea. Don't waste county money studying an option that has a benefit to families on Deerfield only.

This is not about child pedestrian safety, this is about raising property values on Deerfield. I have lived here since 1960, and I have seen these shenanigans before.

Safety of residents (and guests alike) should always be the main priority of policy makers. Redirecting traffic to Mansfield Rd. is not a safe alternative to properly designing and restructuring lanes on Wayne Ave. and should, therefore, not be implemented.

There are many small children who live on Mansfield and play on their lawns. With no sidewalks, and potential increased amount of traffic from Wayne, it'll be very dangerous and untenable for kids AND adults to be outside on Mansfield Road.

I can appreciate the concern of the folks along Wayne Ave who feel disproportionately impacted by the PL but rerouting traffic up Mansfield is a ridiculous alternative. How about closing off Mansfield at Wayne making it a "No Outlet" street?

Mansfield is a quiet, residential street with many school-aged children who walk to school. The current traffic volume already poses its share of challenges given that many homes do not have driveways and residents park on the street. Re-routing traffic up Mansfield is not a tenable plan.

Mansfield Road is a quiet residential street. Visibility is not great going up the hill, and the many children on the block already are at risk. Increasing the traffic on this street is simply not feasible.

Wayne Avenue and Dale Drive are major roads and are designed to handle traffic as such. Local neighborhood roads are not, therefore it is important the Wayne/Dale intersection be designed to safely facilitate traffic flow on these roads, including by offering dedicated turn lanes with turn signals.

If left turn onto Dale from Wayne (heading into downtown SS) were prohibited, how would people on the following streets access their homes? Dale Dr. #100 thru 400, Bonifant, Queen Anne, Mc Neill, Deerfield, Fleetwood, Sheffield? We are talking about 400 to 500 homes on the West side of Wayne. Should all these people have to turn left on Mansfield to access their homes?

There is already too much cut-through traffic on Mansfield during rush hours, to say nothing of nonresident drivers passing by at unsafe speeds. Let us begin now to right-size the role of the private car in the great scheme of MoCo transportation.
