I am truly against the rezoning, I have two children at Leesville Road Elementary in which we are only 5 minutes away. Rezoning to another location that will require a 15 minutes driving distance is ridiculous. I selected this area to live because of the Leesville school system. #Norezoning4Ashworth

Time wasted for both kids and parents, energy wasted on commute further, create more air pollution, more traffic on the I-540 and surrounding. really not a good plan..please reconsider and make a better plan.

We are less than 1 mile from Leesville Elementary. Many in this area chose to live here because of the proximity to the school (even allows for walking/biking to school on nice days or those days where it is not safe to drive, such as the sudden ice storms). Please allow the communities of Eastwinds, Westwinds, Ashworth and surrounding areas to remain neighborhood schools instead of creating long commutes which will have many negative consequences. We LOVE LEESVILLE and want to STAY

This is a not good for the Ashworth neighborhood, surrounding neighborhoods, and the school we take such pride in, Leesville Elementary.
Our families invest an incredible amount of time and energy into our community school and moving us to a school so far away significantly decreases any future investment we can provide.

I live within (1.25 miles) from leesville schools ,about 10 min walk (at Tweeds mill rd)
It make no sense to move my kids to another school about 15 - 20 min away when we can walk to our current leesville school

This is crazy. Leesville is right down the street. Why send the children 20 minutes plus to Cary in the middle of rush hour traffic because Wake County has a school to fill. This puts our kids in more harm. More accidents happen in the middle of rush hour and now you want to put a bus load of kids on that street. When within 10 to 15 mins most of these kids could be at Leesville safe and not worn out from the bus ride.
Think of the safety of the kids and parents and the gas money the tax payers will save not busing those kids to Cary every morning from North Raleigh.
There are other kids that are closer to this school that make better sense to send to this new school.

Are there no parents on the school board? Have you not had your kids take the long bus rides? Or be bused to a school far from home? Do you only have one child and not know what it's like to care for more? Are you not a single mom, or a working parent who relies on friends, family, and neighbors to make your children's lives keep going? I invite you to just come spend time in homes of families who are affected by busing--not just in the Leesville community, but all over Wake County!

Our neighborhood was here before Leesville schools & is located just 1.5 miles from the school, & the board now wants children from half of our neighborhood to ride a bus to Cary for elementary school. This is wrong.

Opposed to this rezoning draft and plan. Living less than 1.5 miles away and enjoying the benefits of our neighborhood community means being able to attend and thrive at our neighborhood school…Leesville Elementary School.

Our 4 children have been attending Leesville Elementary since 2005. Our last baby is currently in 2nd grade there. We have had such joy watching our children over the years graduate from elementary, go on to middle, and eventually enter high school. Leesville schools are more than just a regular school. Parents and students take such PRIDE in each day & activities there. You really feel like a family. Knowing all the staff, getting all of our school pride t-shirts, volunteering, supporting our outstanding athletics...there is no other school I could imagine my children going to. Please allow our children to stay at their base school of Leesville Elementary.

The goal should never be to break up a community. The goal should always be to strengthen a community. Where you have a strong community, you have strong children. It is always the same story, just a different community. Stop the "silo" thinking.

I am horrified to see neighbors taken out of oh school and shipped elsewhere, while two large swaths of kids are being shipped in. This is especially confounding when 3 miles up the road, Sycamore Creek has a tiny, compact map of complete neighborhoods and no bussing in from the city. Another friend whose children are at Sycamore Creek said that their class size is 16-17. I thought they were full?!?!? Leesville Elementary has more than 20 kids!
