Leesville Neighborhood Rezoning Opposition

I oppose the Pemberton subdivision and others to be rezoned to Pleasant Grove Elementary. Keep us close to our family oriented well diversified , community of Leesville Elementary.

Forcing the ridiculous "Mandatory Year Round experiment" on the Leesville campus several years ago turned out to be a disaster for our community and a miserable failure for WCPSS. Please do NOT force families in our community to leave the neighborhood schools they are such an important part of. Leesville families are truly a big family and should not be split up.

This proposed rezoning will result in my child driving past 5 schools to attend this new school. Logistically it does not add up!

I oppose the rezoning proposals for Leesville Schools.

The rezoning plan for Leesville Elementary is preposterous. Give current LES families a choice!

Keep this going don't screw our kids

Westwind is a mile away from Leesville Elementary. It's insane to put our kids on a bus to travel on 540, and 70 possibly, during the worst traffic of the day to Cary to fill a school that needs to be filled! Surely there are other neighborhoods that are closer, and not within walking distance of a neighborhood school that we've been going to for about 20 years!

So in favor of neighborhood schools as the school board has been in the past. Let's leave it that way and leave our kids at Leesville Road Elementary School, which is right around the corner as opposed to moving them across town. Moving the children would also discourage parental involvement, which only hurts the schools and the children in the end.

We are upset about the proposal, which would cause my daughter to have to be bussed on dangerous 540 rather than walk to school less than 1 mile away.

This is a bad plan for our community. School proximity should be the number one priority when assigning schools.

Please keep the Ashworth subdivision as part of the Leesville Community. I have 3 children, one in each school. My life and schedule would have to change drastically if my youngest was sent to a school further away. Time is of great value and it Is completely unnecessary and illogical to waste my time, that of my family and not to mention gas $$ and send my child much further from home. We live less than 2 miles away and my child takes the bus on small back roads. Going to the new school would change the bus experience and I cannot accept changes that are not in the best interest of safety for my and my friends children. As a person who was in a bus accident as a young adult., the thought of sending my child on a bus that will go on a highway truly scares me. I was riding in a bus when a car pulled out in front of us on a main road. The driver of the car attempted to get in front of the bus. Many people do not want to be behind a bus on a main road. The car didn't go fast enough when it pulled out, the bus was going too fast and the bus hit the car on a corner of a gas station. I never forgot it obviously. Please keep Ashworth Subdivision as a member of the Leesville Community of schools.

This is not in the best interest of the families in our community. There are plenty of homes in brier creek that sit closer to pleasant grove school. No logic in the proposed changes as usual.

Please do not reassign children in the Wyngate community to a school other than Leesville. Though my child is now at Leesville High School, it was wonderful to have him start at Leesville Elementary, move over to Leesville Middle, and now (hopefully) will be allowed to finish at Leesville High. Yes, I understand this proposed change is for elementary school only. He has developed many friendships over the years with kids who live in and near our Wyngate neighborhood and also attend Leesville schools. The close proximity of my son's school to our home also makes it easier for me to volunteer. The only change I would like to see is to make Leesville and frankly all the other schools year-round, but that is another issue. :-)

We want to stay at Leesville and remain a part of that community!

I recently purchased a home in Cornerstone Park solely to have my children attend Leesville elementary. I am outraged by the though of taking my children out of this school to be bused several miles further and into horrible traffic.

The proposed rezoning is NOT what is in the best interest of Wake Co. children or their families!!!

As a recent home owner in wyngate subdivision only owning my home for roughly 1 year- a large portion of the decision was the proximity to the leesville schools. I chose this home for the school district and I do not want my future children bussed to inconvenient locations.

We oppose the redistricting of the Wyngate neighborhood to a school seven miles away.

This is the wrong way to start off a new school. I understand the school board wants to fill this beautiful new school they have but why do you want to feel it with students that do not want to go there? Families that currently have student at Leesville Elementary, Leesville Middle and Leesville High School should be able to CHOOSE if they want their other children to continue. All we are asking for is that students who currently go there or families who already have students in the Leesville Community be allowed to decide if they want their children to continue at Leesville Elementary or do to the new school!
