My grandson is being rezoned from a neighborhood school in Raleigh to a new school 8 miles down 540 in Cary--utterly ridiculous. Aside from destroying community involvement in our schools it is another example of wasteful spending of our tax dollars.

This plan is senseless and illogical in so many ways, and inconsiderate to the very real hardships and damage for families that this decision will create, as well as the ill will and mistrust that will be created toward Wake County Schools. It's a classic case of "fixing what isn't broken." We've heard so much about the value of community and continuity at Leesville, kids being able to grow up and move up together through Leesville Elementary into Leesville Middle School and High School next door. And now we're being told to ignore that. Wake County can do better than this.

My son and daughter have made many friends with students and teachers at Leesville Elementary, and to have to rip them from their neighborhood school within walking distance to one in another city entirely is not good for my children or Leesville Elementary. I realize the new Pleasant Grove school was built in a less-than-ideal location for whatever reasons, but there must be better ways to fill it rather than taking the students closest to an existing neighborhood school. At the very least, it should only have affected future students, and not existing ones. We're all in it for the children; I don't think disrupting their comfortable school to send them to one in a separate city where we have no roots, no friends, etc is doing them any favors.

We currently live about a mile from Leesville Elementary School. The proposed plan would create a ludicrous scenario where we would be driving miles away from our current school each day. It's senseless. We chose our home based on its proximity to the school. If we are forced to drive through rush hour traffic on the highway in the opposite direction from my place of employment and my home to take my child to school each day, it would greatly impact our lives. The proposed plan is inconsiderate of the families who chose their homes in order to be part of the Leesville Community, within a mile radius of the school. Part of the appeal of Leesville Elementary School is that a student could continue his or her education through Leesville Middle and High Schools and remain part of the Leesville community.

Please do not rezone Leesville to Pleasant Grove. Keep Sycamore Creek as a year round option for this area.

Many great families and children will be impacted by terrible decision. If you can walk to school you should be able to attend that school. People bought homes near leesville for that reason and so many lives will be impacted I am against this change.

We are opposed to redistricting Leesville Road Elementary School. It does not make sense to transport kids 8-12 miles to Cary when we can walk to LES.

The inability of our children to attend OUR neighborhood school completely negates why we moved to our house off of Oneal dr. When we play out in the front yard, we can hear the band practicing. We always dreamed of having our children in Leesville from elementary to HS.
It makes way more sense to have Brier creek overcrowding to be the major source of students in the new school based on geography around the school.

We are opposed to the assignment plan for multiple reasons. It's not logical and lacks information as to how it improves Leesville and out children.

I am not affected in the rezoing however this would change the dynamic of the school big time! Wcpss needs to decide do they bus for diversity or not? If they do then bus everywhere not just LES!!

This whole plan is ridiculous. I will be driving 8 miles past my house when Leesville elementary school is a mile away from my house. This does not touch the times school will start, how long the kids will be on the bus to get to school, the route of the bus, if there is a before/after school program for parents who work after school hours, and the sense of community that has been with my family for 4 years with Leesville, and many more. Zora Felton has failed this community big.

Please keep Pemberton at Leesville. Do not rezone...I agree with so many parents, why send your kids to school so much further away when we have a really good school down the street.
