this institution cannot allow for such hateful rhetoric to be allowed to be spewed on campus. men deserve no involvement in women’s reproductive rights and allowing this society to exist with the uni’s authorisation is deeply offensive and unacceptable. the last thing universities in this country needs is americanised, charlie kirk style, “rage bait” politics.

while i am all for free speech, given the current political climate against women I don’t think it is a good time to fuel more controversy.

Creating this society will go against the LUU core value of the inclusively. Which will then lead to the other two core values of fun and empowering also being affected. Given the current issues that are going on in the world, efforts should be done to meet those core values at university and for women to have the freedom and the choice to do what is right.

I’m not a student of this university, yet I take part in the socials and use the library services so I’m associated with the institution. Whilst it is important to value different opinions, the society in question is undoing years of work towards progressive values. As is common knowledge, restricting the right to abortion has led to significant harm towards women in numerous ways. Allowing a society to form with such views is sure to perpetuate an echo chamber where alternative perspectives are not discussed. I believe the society should not be allowed to spread controversial views in an area where they cannot be debated.

The freedom to form a society at LUU should not automatically extend to those who advocate for the removal of the freedoms of others.

While everyone is entitled to their personal beliefs and the right to make their own choices, a university society should not actively promote pressure, guilt, or influence over deeply personal medical decisions such as abortion. Universities should remain spaces where students feel supported in making informed choices without targeted ideological pressure.
