Really??!! A century-old tradition, with some 50 percent of its graduates still living, and with no public input??!! Really??!!! Somebody is wasting his/her time in Walker County, AL and should be in Washington, D.C.. instead.

Graduate c/o 1995. I have since moved away but am always proud to tell people I am a graduate of Walker High School. I feel like a piece of my own life history is being ripped away. This is so wrong.

My mother and several family members and friends graduated from Walker. It seems a shame to lose the name and seemingly destroy a great legacy and tradition.

Walker High School is one of our county's/city's icons! Why would you want to tear that down! There was nothing wrong with the old building! It had been remodeled many times! You've spent all that money on a new building, closing area schools and now your changing the name ! Why? What is the purpose? Does landmarks not mean anything to you? Let the county/city vote on it!

I am a proud graduate from Walker High's Class of 2005. Don't change the name of the school. From my history as a teacher, changing the school name will disassociate it from the years of tradition and excellence that Walker is known for all across the state.

This was my home school until I had to transfer to Curry High School but once a Viking always a Viking and I believe that the name should be left alone. It isn't just a building name. It has a past. A history. That in itself should be enough to save the name of Walker High School.

I am a 1980 grad of Walker High my husband graduated from there and all 3 of our children. Walker is rich in heritage. It doesn't need to be changed.

I disagree 100% with changing the name of Walker High School to Jasper High School.....it is so unnecessary!!!
