I understand the importance of "branding" our city, but the potential improvement of education does not outweigh the pride I have in tradition in this instance.

Why would you change a strong tradition? Is the change really necessary? We are a proud people, the Walker Vikings. Please do not change a legacy that wholes so many memories.

Why why change the history of the school. Added expense to change letterhead, business cards, fight song, etc.

Please leVe the name as Walker High School. Home of the Vikings. Even though it is a city school and had been for many years most of your local county Jr. High schools were still bused to Walker Higj School ad per agreement between county and city when name changed from Walker County HighSchool! S large majority of us still live, work and pay taxes in this county and the city of jasper and eat, shop and send our education our children here. Please continue the tradition of Walker High School and the Vikings. We support our schools and deserve a say in this matter.

I didn't attend Walker I went to Curry but schools are built on tradition and changing the name of Walker to Jasper School just doesn't make any sense and the name sounds awful

While competing in the battle of the bands and all the other band competitions, we were so proud of be "Walker High School" because we felt we were Walker county. We were not just a school located in Jasper. We were an entire county. And it made us push harder because we were going out of town and sometimes out of state representing not just our school district... Not just our city... But our entire county. Being a Walker Viking was... And still is... Something to be proud of.

Proud to be a "1984 Walker Viking". Changes good and bad is happening all around us, we can't effect or change most of it. Let us past, present and future students of Walker High stop the school name change. "We are Walker Vikings"

The cost will be detrimental to the taxpayers and there is no reason to rebrand the school. If it becomes jasper high school, then the county taxpayers should be exempt from paying city school taxes.
