Terrible idea as long as people ease of just trying to win, and use the games to develop children the system works. Contact is important as long as it's controlled with a quick held.

A Major element of the came is the phyical side of contact. Wihtout this what game are the kids playing? are they training for a completely different sport, being duped from a your age to become involved in a game that down the line when a contact is included. If its a fundamental part of the game, it should be there from day 1.

I have been coaching rugby league for many years. I have coached 4 year olds through to adults. I am currently coaching the Cubs Section. This year we sent 24 Cubs up to the U7's because they are ready to play matches having learnt the basic skills for two years. Cubs rugby and mini rugby in it's current format is thriving at our club. I would like to know more about the consultation process conducted by the decision makers who are proposing the new primary format.

In my opinion, 7v7 has worked for years and it will always work, this has been proved and the kids love it.

going to 4v4 would only take kids away from the game instead of bringing them into it. 7v7 has worked for years and will continue to do so if left alone.

The current format has worked well for a number of years without any real problems and is already a small sided version of our game. The 7-12 age group is bucking the national trend and increasing playing numbers year on year which is a great credit to the management of both the league and individual clubs. Change it and from what we are told by parents within our clubs you will see a significant drop off of those numbers overnight. I wish the RFL would put as much effort into coach development at these young age groups as they do with academics who have never coached a team or understand the nuances of running an amateur club do in trying to mess with the format. Leave it alone, all is well here.

7v7 gives the kids opportunity learn and have fun. If this is adopted it will put alot of pressure on clubs to recruit volunteers to oversee matches thus meaning kids won`t be able to play and will probably get lost to other sports like football.
