This petition is set up to show Burwell Parish Council that we dis-agree with there "rule" that they are trying to bring forward on the last day of April.
We do not want to remove flowers or items off our loved ones graves as this is disrespectful in our eyes to our family members who have passed away...
I have been reading the stories you are sharing about the mementos left for your family members and my heart breaks for all of us. The council remains silent regarding our concerns but your messages prove how much these tributes mean to our healing. I am currently preparing formal letters to send their way so they understand we will not let this policy stand.

Seeing so many of you join this battle proves that I am not alone in wanting to protect the final resting place of my family. It is heartbreaking to think of these graves being cleared and your support gives me the strength to keep fighting the council.

The rule came out in 1977 why leave it until 2015 to bring it back into force? it has been 32 years without it so leave it how it is, dont you understand that these families could still be grieving for there loses!!!

my daughter is there and it's very important for me to be able to buy her things, we always keep her area clean and maintained.

Different peoples have different ways and these should be respected as far as possible. Times are changing and perhaps Burwell Parish council should lead the way rather than impose an outmoded control.

My gran and grandad and most of my family are buried here this is a disgrace and very disrespectful to out family/family's, this is very upsetting let alone the hurt we have while visiting our loved ones it's a shame we have to remove everything we have got them. Very upsetting and the council should be ashamed :( :( :(
