Leave the monuments to our ancestors alone. Removing the them does nothing except create more divide and animosity.

The same type of people tried the same kind of tactic in Georgetown. It didn't work there and it won't work in Bell County. The people can tell right from wrong. Our memorials are identical and so is our resolve.

You don't change history by removing statue. You can lie about history, but that doesn't change the truth.
Please remember our Confederate ancestors were doing the same thing our Revolutionary ancestors. Fighting against unfair oppression.

Please do not erase history or the memory of these men - most of whom did not own, nor fight for slaves, but more often in defense of their homes, families and country. We can preserve history and at the same time teach people about all causes and aspects of the conflict

As a 7th generation Texian on one side and 6th on the other sides, I am appalled to think that someone who moved here last week has a say in our history. If your family was not in Bell County before 1870 you have nothing to say about removing this statue OR any others that are here. This is TEXAS not the East or West Coast . Conform or better yet move back to where you came from .

As a fifth generation Texan, direct descendant of Texans who served our state in Texas Infantry regiments, I am opposed to the removal of our memorials to our soldiers' service.
