It's a lovely part of history and should stay right where it is. Don't let anyone lie to you about what it represents.

Leave our Heritage alone.
Our ancestors fought and died for states rights not for slavery!
Stop caving to the politically correct and their false narrative of the War For Southern Independence.

I am sick and tired of these IDIOTS removing our monuments of our history. They should be protected by the grandfather clause or an amendment to protect them by our government.

Confederate soldiers are veterans and deserve the respect associated with all veterans. Respect our history and stop trying to hide it.

I believe it should stay. It is a part of my heritage and one reason I come to visit your city.. It'd be a shameful act to remove it and I would definitely feel not welcomed to your city if you decided to remove a part of my heritage.

Leave our history alone. Like it or not, this is the patrimony of the people of Texas and of the South.

I live in Bell County. The removal of statues is a disgrace & does nothing to alter history. The idea that society of 155 years ago can be judged by today’s standards is ludicrous. History is no longer being taught in the schools & the rule of the mob seems to be the idea of how to create change in modern society

It seems that most people are ignorant of the fact that Confederate soldiers are recognized as United States Veterans, by law. Further, thousands of soldiers, sailors and airmen in today's volunteer military sacrifice each day for you and your family. These same individuals who are willing to die for you have Confederate blood from their ancestors flowing in their veins. I feel certain that if you put away your emotions and your limited knowledge of history the issue of removing Confederate monuments and history would subside.

Historical revision at its worse.
