People moving into our state need to learn about our state. If they don't like what they see, they can go back where they came from.

The County Commissioners of Chattanooga, Tennessee voted last year to keep the memorial to Confederate Lt. General A.P. Stewart - the well-known Corps Commander of the Army of Tennessee - in the face of threats from the NAACP. There should be no reason why the same rational decision cannot be made by Bell County about the Confederate statue at their courthouse in the face of threats from the “politically correct” people that care little for the history of Texas or the South. We can’t impose 21st century views upon the mid-19th century. Our history, not the politics of the day, should be the deciding factor. I would hope that the County Commissioners making the decision will vote in favor of keeping the memorial to those who sacrificed so much for Texas and the cause they believed in.

History and its monuments should not be tampered with. At this moment in time we are yielding to a "loud" few and it is not the same view as the majority.

Leave the statue where it is to honor and remember our ancestors who fought for their families’ safety and futures to live in peace. Northerners are not being forced to remove memorials!

I wish people would stop trying to take away pther’s right to honor their loved ones! This statue was privately funded as a memorial and should be left alone!!!
