As Englewood does not participate in leash laws for pet owners, I am starting a petition to ask that leash laws be imposed and enforced. There are several responsible dog owners with well behaved pets in the community, however there are just as many if not more irresponsible owners whom allow their dogs to run amuck. Its an endangerment to small children, others pets and the unleashed dogs themselves to be running the streets free from the leash. This is how dog fights occur, small children get attacked and dogs get hit by moving vehicles. Englewood is quickly growing and is no longer a small suburb of Denver, leash laws should be imposed for the safety and happiness of everyone living in the community.

The Englewood City Council continues to dodge my emails while children remain at risk on our sidewalks. I am done asking nicely and will be showing up at their public office with this list of names to demand immediate action.

The Englewood City Council can no longer pretend this isn't a problem now that so many of you have demanded change. These negligent dog owners are putting our kids in danger and this momentum shows we are done waiting for them to act.

Many of these owners "conveniently" don't notice when their dogs who are running ahead of them poop in a neighbors yard. Sick of picking up dog poop in my yard when I dont own a dog
As the mother of a small child who is allergic to dogs, I believe it would be beneficial to have animals leashed. There have been times when a dog has run up to my son & brushed up against him causing hives. We then have to leave, bathe him & give him meds. It's great that a dog is friendly, but it doesn't stop an allergic reaction. I am also concerned about the dog's safety as well. Either by attacks from other animals or possibly running into the street.
I Thought we had a leash law.
I had no idea that Englewood has no leash laws!
I thought we already had leash laws...we need them.

To be clear, Englewood does have leash laws, they're just not being enforced. This will help bring awareness to the laws as well.
