The Main Ayr Facebook Page (Growing up in Lochside, Dalmilling, Whitletts and Remembering Auld Ayr) would like to draw your attention to this NOTICE detailed herein.

The notice details the fact that South Ayrshire Council would like to alienate an area to the Seaward Facing side of the Pavillion, now known as Pirate Petes at Pavillion Road, Ayr Seafront, these actual plans are not even outlined or made clear in the Notice, therefore these changes could be potentially used for any form of Business. All the Notice states is that the Council would like to lease 148 square metres of the Play area to the west of Pirate Petes/Ayr Pavillion with an option to buy!!! We believe the Purpose or Intended Use of this land should have been included in the Notice/Proposal.

The area is intended to be leased with a possibility of being able to then purchase this land.

Our fears are that if this is the case, that further pieces of the Low Green and surrounding areas will be sold off for further Commercial Gain, which could in effect, deprive people of Ayr and its Visitors of its assetts. This entire area was gifted to the people of Ayr and is known as "Common Good Land". The whole situation is totally unfair and seems very corrupt. Its a fact that this Proposal has not been made very Prominent, therefore resulting in any Interested parties not being made fully aware of these plans or intentions.

Please stop these plans from going ahead by signing our Petition below, or you can also write to - Audrey Greenwood, Assets Co Ordinator, Burns House, Ayr, KA8 8BH, detailing your concerns and objections.
