PETES will HAVE to do more portables until a new school in our area is built. It is absolutely negligent of the builders and administration of Vaudreuil to continue to build houses and grow our city, at the rate they are, without any consideration as to where these new families will send their children. Funny that whenever numbers become a problem in the French school system, a new school is built quickly and seemingly without the land hassles that the English school board encounters. What are we doing wrong?

It is deplorable to think that children have the "choice" to attend English schools but it is made impossible for them to do so based on decisions like these. We cannot have our children in school from 7am-6pm because of zoning laws when there are schools within minutes of their homes.

Going all the way to Hudson is completely ridiculous. Please help us stay in the community that we love and give us and our children the quality of life we deserve.

I went to English school when the Board was called PSBGM. I walked to both Elementary and High school. This is disgraceful. I am a French Immersion teacher, living in Ontario who was educated in ENGLISH in Montreal. My mother was French Canadian and she attended English school in Quebec city. I am deeply saddened by this.

Signing in support of parents affected by this change. So many things wrong with forcing this on children and parents. I hope a satisfactory solution is found :(

My daughter will lose all 4 of her best friends if they are forced to leave. It doesn't just affect those that have to leave, it affects the kids that stay as well. It's our community. There are other options surely.

Why weren't borders of zones redrawn rather than removing entire zone that is so close to the school. And why not make st Patrick in pincourt french immersion and offer that school as a solution as it is only 9km rather than 18km. Didn't it just get expansion? I'm sure if lines are adjusted most of zone 57 can stay at petes while others would be logistically closer to pincourt. Make it immersion rather than bilingual.

Will be much more stressful for him and for his Dad who at times picks him up at school. Jake does not adapt well to change.

We are zoned for hudson living in area 58 and we choose for our children to attend English school but we have to sacrifice our children being stuck on a bus for 2 hrs each day...on top of it we HAVE to send our kids to our community summer camp! Where they know nobody cause they all attend PETES!
We have been with mount pleasant for 3 years now and we LOVE the school i juat wish i could involve myself more but the 20min drive there and back makes it difficult!
But we do what we think is best! We are now thinking of leaving vaudreuil and moving closer to our school! It only makes sense...
But really too bad!

This seems like a lack of long term planning on behalf of the school board. Children are born several years before they enter school. Therefore it seems logical that school enrollment is reasonably planned years ahead. This problem of increasing numbers did not occur overnight. There should have been some proactive planning years ago to build/acquire another school building. Maybe create a middle school. Very disappointed in the English school board.

The LBPSB during the 2015 MSC did not think of the children and their families in making their decision. I'm from zone 52, also affected by the changes, also considering to putting my children into French school system.

We have the exact same issue in the Floralies section here in Vaudreuil.
