Although this does not affect my grandchildren in particular as they live SOUTh of the 40, I am signing with respect to the potential loss of Anglo Rights.

It is such a shame to rip the kids out of a school that they know and are comfortable with. Why can you not leave the kids that are in the school the way it is and let them finish out there time at PETES. Take any new kids coming in from the Costco and Walmart zones and put them to the NEW Schools. Let them start fresh and new and the new school. Why disrupt the existing kids and rip them out in the middle of their time and make them nervous and have anxiety.

My child has not been affected...yet. Who knows when they will decide to rezone again?
I feel for those families whose children will be uprooted and I understand their anger, given that they live just across the overpass from PETES. I agree that it is strange that the French school board was able to get a new school built, seemingly without hassles, when PETES has been over capacity since it opened! Given its popularity, there should be MORE immersion schools in the west...

English have right to go to English schools and not to be sent to French school boards by law.

Our daughters will be going to PETES (starting 2017 & 2019), and hope that all is very well rectified by then :)

Sadly, this isn't the case just for Zone 57. I am in Zone 59 and have two other schools closer to our house than the two we are zoned for. It does not make sense!

There seems to have been no thought process in this whole situation. For something of this magnitude a referendum should have been taken before any decisions were made.

This fiasco of a decision to even consider transporting young children some 18+ km away from their homes is not only unexceptible but also makes a mockery of the administration in charge of our educational system and major adjustments need to be made in re-zoning or re-educating those so-called educated professionals.

The Quebec school system is but one of the many reasons we left Quebec in 2014... Good luck with the petition!

Should it not be a right to educate one's children in English in Canada???

This doesn't make any sense at all, why should my children be penalized, going over 20KM further away just because the Hudson school has lower enrolment?

This is ridiculous! Stop closing schools. consult families. Hold referendums. use our tax dollars wisely. DO PROPER FEASIBILITY STUDIES, stop studying your belly buttons! You are increasing costs of dollars and wasted life and family time with the irresponsible decisions you are making. What ever happened to taking responsibility for our people and communities? Where was the public consult??? Where is the report? Someone must be held accountable for this. Someone is getting something for this...
