Who is this small group of people who cant seem to mind their own business? It would be a great loss for the community if this were to be enforced. All music in Puerto Viejo is part of Puerto Viejo, you cannot remove any of it. I want to also mention that the owners of this establishment are generous individuals that participate in making the neighborhood a better place. The live music has been a fundamental part of many fundraisers that benefited many different areas of need in the local community. So whoever is pushing to have this enforced should think about the loss of help for the needy as well.

Please be a government that does what the people want. Don't change Lazy Mon by decree. Let the people decide if they want to visit a place with music or not. Please keep the government out of it.

I was here for a few days on the end of a Costa Rica trip and it was absolutely amazing! After heading to Panama for a few days, I returned again to relax, get a few more shows from Jessy Chick (who is amazing!) and head home! My trip wouldn't have been the same without this place and its music!

During my first trip to Costa Rica in 2011, I was lucky enough to discover The Lazy Mon during my Puerto Viejo visit. The owners were so friendly and warm, they allowed my friend and I to stay in their hostel while it was still under renovation. The owners, staff, and friends showed us a good time and made the experience fun, pleasant, and memorable. We fell in love with Puerto Viejo, and have since convinced many travelers to visit and to make sure they stop by The Lazy Mon. I would hope this establishment stays around for others to enjoy.
