A true inspiration that will never be forgotten thanks to his loving, and loyal fans. Layne was not only a talented musician, but an amazing person, often reaching out to those in need. I love you layne - you will never be forgotten.

Amazing vocal range and so much more than what he has been given credit for. Even though more have recognized how great he was since his passing I still think it hasn't come close to what his legacy deserves, not in just his contribution as an artist but a great human being despite the war he was fighting

Layne Staley was an intensely talented musician, songwriter and composer. He contributed hugely to the early 90s music scene and his influence continues to be felt and he continues to inspire and touch musicians and people all over. He deserves recognition for everything he's put in and all that he was. He was far more than what he's been reduced to.

Lanye was a true anti-musician , he defyed the music industry and showed
his tears and suffering to us all he also made us aware of the dangers of drugs an honest portrayal of the downsides to fame, Layne is one of my favorite singers and Alice in Chains should be included in the R'N'R hall of fame , they are one of the only mainstream bands that impacted me to love music again

One of most powerful voices ever heard in Rock-N-Roll who has sadly been overlooked since his passing will hopefully get the well deserved honor and recognition he's earned through his artistic talents... THANK YOU for doing this!! Please contact me if there's anything I can do creatively to further assist in making this project become reality.

Well said! What's crazy is that there are SO MANY others out there just like you who didn't know who Layne was back when he was actively singing and alive still....I was one of those people. I'm 28 years old and I had heard of the band "Alice in Chains" before when I was a kid, but I didn't know their songs, nor was I old enough to understand and appreciate them either. Anyhow, I saw a fan-made video with clips of the movie "Requiem for a dream" (regarding heroin addiction) and the YouTube video had "Down in a Hole " playing during the movie clips. I heard that song and that voice and was instantly sucked in! Layne's voice and lyrics were almost like a drug to me...I was immediately hooked!! I began researching him, and now 2 years later I have every song that his voice is on, whether it be from AIC, Mad Season, Class of '99, Second Coming, etc. and I've watched every YouTube video that he's in. I'm just so intrigued and I wish I had known about him when he was still alive. So since his tragic passing, us fans have only been left with 2 terrible, thin, poorly written books by the same author (Miss Rubio), and his legacy deserves so much more than that. Us fans have been screaming and begging for some quality and much needed recognition that Layne truly deserves, whether it be a book, a movie, etc. Thankfully, I at least have a copy of the "Unplugged: Alice in Chains " DVD when Layne had his short light pink hair and he belted out each song so beautifully even though his physical health was not the best. At least I can watch that over and over and it never gets old---you can literally feel the pain that he sung about during the Unplugged session, Layne sung each piece with so much heartfelt emotion---it's unbelievable to watch. Anyhow, I'm just saying that for Layne and the fans sake , we deserve some new QUALITY Layne material. RIP SWEETHEART- to Layne Thomas Staley---the best to ever do it!!

Layne Staley is not only mine, but several other people that I knows, favorite artist/singer of all time. I feel that he was always underrated---his voice was like nobody else's in the industry & his songs that he wrote were so extremely deep & powerful. There is nobody else that I can think of that deserves a movie AND book (not the crappy ones that are out by Rubio) than Layne. He led an interesting life and i think if his story were truly told, it would not only be a treat to us fans but his story may help or inspire millions in all sorts of ways. The fans have been begging for more "Layne" ever since he passed.

layne touched me on a very deep level. his voice haunts me in a way that i cannot describe. i listen to his music all the time, still. i simply cannot think of a singer that tops him. his voice was so original and so powerful. i was very sad the day he died. i understood his struggle very well.
