Genuine community consultation is a minimum requirement.

How is it that a number of elected members ignored the recommendations of their planners as well as the community?!! The ploy of some alderman claiming that the UGBneeds to extending to resolve the housing crisis is a farse. I have yet to see anything substantial in a development proposal that allocates lots for social/ public housing, which is what will really help to resolve the housing cirisis.

I completely understand why more people want want to live in Lauderdale but i am concerned about the development of this bush landscape into such tight density living. I would like to see some research on the environmental implications for local fauna and flora to ensure we aren't causing any irreversible damage with this proposal. I am very concerned about how this will effect the traffic. The highway and particularly along bayview road. Bayview road is already narrow but we are a small considerate community so it works. Widening this road would really ruin the look of this area. We love the little original beach shacks dotted along here and the relaxed vibe of the streetscape. There are also lots of kids riding bikes along this road and also regularly crossing the road to access the beach. More traffic would endanger this. The already overflowing school simply can't accommodate more students either. We already lost half the school library in order to create more classrooms. The traffic around the school in the mornings at the acton road turn off is already a cause for concern and this would add to the problem significantly. While I'm not a fan of rezoning land to residential in areas like this, I do feel if this were to go ahead it would need to be on a much smaller scale. This is simply too many homes, too tightly packed and with too much extra traffic. Thanks, Isobel.

Planning is so important. Need the infrastructure before you expand residential areas.

This and other developments on the Eastern Shore will contribute to gridlock on all main roads. We need to maintain the Eastern shore and promote sustainable development, not over development!

Destroy ambience of the area. Insufficient infrastructure. Rapacious developers.

I have real concerns regarding the rezoning of this land as residential. I am totally opposed to it.The suburban sprawl is unnecessary on this thin peninsular, already the local council have consented to large quantities of housing developments (on the eastern shore)without any forward planning or thought to road infrastructure. It is very evident from existing traffic issues that the council is reaping the benefits of urban development while ignoring their responsibilities/future needs to support vital infrastructure for these developments. What about water ? We have 0 migrants coming to Aus to live & a 0 population growth & on-top of this an ageing population, I question the need for such a large development.

Why would CC Councillors ignore professional planning advice??

This proposed change is very upsetting. During dog curfew hours the beach is unused for large proportion of the day. Dog owners love and use the beach on a daily basis - the changes will ruin our lifestyle and make beach usage much more unattainable. Any decisions made should keep in mind the whole community.

I am against any proposal to extend Bayview Road for the development of land to be zoned residential. It would be detrimental to bird and animal habitats. It would create a traffic hazard with cars backing up trying to enter onto South Arm Hwy. Lauderdale Primary School has an enormous number of pupils. There is already a back up of traffic from dropping off children and trying to get back onto South Arm Hwy. A round about is needed. Please consult with the community first. The present infrastructure cannot support this.

Total whitewash ... no local consideration or consultation.... who are these people on the council who block and delay “Mum and dad “ projects then allow a massive impactful development through without ANY community consultation

Consultation is important to consider community thoughts and suggestions on potential planning which impacts and changes current lifestyle choice.

This is a huge, inappropriate development that will have major negative impacts on all aspects of infrastructure in the Lauderdale / Sandford environs.

Please engage or consult with the community before resigning this parcel of land. Infrastructure such as roads, traffic, the local primary school and sewerage are significantly stressed and need consideration. Please also consider the jarring nature of throwing a massive number of small suburban sized blocks agains rural resource blocks of existing residents!

This is clearly a for profit land grab. I am not averse to further development in our area but cramming as many 500sqm blocks in as you can into the space is a not in keeping with our coastal community and clearly the area does not have the infrastructure to support this. Our family and the residents of this community have moved to this area to escape mass urban build up... at the very least we should be consulted before the substance of our community is completely changed.

Getting out of Ringwood Drive onto South Arm HW is quite often horrendous now. Development south of Lauderdale will make it impossible. How will water and sewerage infrastructure cope?
