I agree with the change of time and giving them a better time framing to study, the quality instead of the quantity will help them.

This is a very important matter. Our kids will definitely benefit from it.

Do not let a group of misguided negativists convince you that this is unimportant. It is VITAL for our young people!!

I wholeheartedly agree with the need to alter the BHS start time. Stress, anxiety, lack of focus, I attention and irritability are all heightened by chronic fatigue.

My daughter, a junior, has 1st & 2nd hour off this year .... Wow, what a dramatic difference in every aspect, not just school. Clearly, 5:30 am was too early to wake up for mind or body of a teenager.

Please don't ignore the science and research that supports our efforts. Our primary concern should be for the health of our children.

I think a later start time is a good idea, but it will only shift the activities and the work load will stay the same which might not change amount of sleep the kids get. If the school can find an effective way to solve the repercussions of starting later, I'm all for it.

I strongly urge that the start times for the High School and the Middle Schools be set back. Our daughter is registered to start at the high school in the fall but her father and I seriously considering home schooling as her chronic sleep deprivation has caused her immunity to be very low and she gets sick about every two weeks. This is dangerous as she has asthma.
