I wake up tired every morning and come home and fall asleep. In my classes I can't always focuse Cuz I'm so tired. Having a late start will benifit my health as well as everything in school.

The overwhelming research supports the later start time to help our kids in the long run and in their health. I only wish it could be implemented sooner, as per the recommendations the group you commissioned to study this issue! Please put our kids health and success back as a first priority!

I think 8:30am is an ideal time if it could be worked out...

I am all in favor of a later start time. It is what is best for the students, and that should be the first priority.

As the father of an incoming high school freshman (with two additional children in the pipeline), I strongly support this initiative. Several studies, reinforced by common sense, show that later start times have material benefits on students' performance. I hope the board takes this into account in its analysis of the proposed change.

Repeatedly, studies have shown the benefits of later starts, and as a parent of a teen boy, I believe them. In addition, the reasons often given for NOT changing the time are focused on the convenience & cost for the adults in the community, not what is best for the teens. The leading school districts in the country have already started making this change. Please allow District 220 to continue to be a leader in education, not a lagger.

As a parent, when I hear about solid research that reveals a cost-effective path toward better learning, health, and well-being for my child, I look to my school district to overcome barriers and make it happen.

Support later start time. Would like it to be reasonable. No start after 9:00-9:15

I am in support of a later start time at the high school and the work this committee has done to assess the impact and propose a win-win solution.

I support implementing the later start time for BHS of ~8:30am for the upcoming 2016/17 school year.

Late start times are a smart and healthy adjustment to out districts agenda of implementing best practices.
