We are a community of Lansing, MI residents who are petitioning for the 100 Blk thru 1500 Blk of East Grand River Ave. to be changed to a great american hero Cesar E. Chavez Ave. Mr. Chavez also like Dr. Martin Luther King and Ghandi who worked tremedously for civil rights of americans and non americans. Mr. Chavez also was a US Navy Veteran, Medal of Freedom recipient and believed in non-violence. Currently, Lansing, MI is the only city/state that gave a street in honor of Cesar E. Chavez then after a few months it was taken away. Michigan cities like Detroit, Saginaw, Flint, Ponitac and Grand Rapids have already honored Mr. Chavez with a School, Street, Statue etc. Lansing is the capitol of Michigan and we should be honored to honor Cesar E.
