The total cost to change the name of J.E.B. Stuart High School to Justice High School was $453,862, according to Matt Guilfoyle, the Executive Director of Communications for Fairfax County Public Schools. Surely FCPS has better ways to spend half a million dollars than changing the name of Robert E. Lee High School.

What do they think? Changing a schools name will erase or change history? GET OVER IT, leave the name alone.

You can't rewrite history because you don't like someone or a event.

Lee was an American war hero. He was on the wrong side when viewed through our cultural lens, but that does not make him a villain. Honoring him does not support racism or imply that slavery was okay.

If this truly isn’t coming from the community of RELee, then I’m against it. Why waste tax payers money just because community leaders think it’s the right thing to do. Also from what I’ve read, RELee was against slavery.

Why does everyone want to wipe out history? It is disgusting. Keep the school name. Robert E. Lee WAS a land owner in a Virginia before he was a general. Honor that.
