Such a shame that a big decision is being decided from such a few... Our voice should matter

The idea of some whiny citizen having supreme rights to change the name of a high school that we all still love almost 50 years later is ridiculous. Not to mention, and obvious ploy to erase history forever. Leave Robert E. Lee High School alone. We are proud of our heritage and history.

Do not change the name, but perhaps adopt policies to avoid future schools having to undergo name change critics.

ALL NAMES MATTER! PLEASE DO NOT CHANGE THE NAME! I attended Robert E. Lee High School from 1976 to 1980, when Mr. Baumgartner was an Administrator. He was kind and gentle, and fair to each and every person who walked in the door. A lot of students learned more from him than they learned from the name! There were many different cultures in both students and faculty, and the name had no negative effect on anyone. The name does not cause division; the talk of changing the name does. Thank you for your consideration of keeping the name of the school Robert E. Lee High School.

Changing the name of a school doesn’t change history!

If your going to change the name of My school then you need to cancel history classes as well. This is history. Be proud of how we evolved but remember the steps and the people that fought for it and changed it. Good or bad it’s history and I’m a proud Robert E. Lee Lancer!

Don't change the name. That would be wrong. He was a part of history.

Class of '71. When the Lee statue was brought to Richmond, they could have had horses pull the statue to it's final position, but the people of Richmond and Virginia said, "No!" They wanted to pull the statue by hand. Both white and black Virginians pulled the ropes rolling the statue on logs to get it in position on Monument Ave. All Virginians were proud of and loved General Robert E. Lee as a true Virginian and American. The ropes were cut in pieces and given to those who helped. Do not change the name of Robert E. Lee High School. All Virginians should be proud of him and the truth taught in our schools.

Why do people always have to go in and change things some institutions need to stay the way they are. If it’s not broke don’t attempt to fix it.
