I am gathering materials for the next city council meeting. Conversations with neighbors confirm this is long overdue.

NO ROOSTERS is the key. Keep the noise down and let us have the hens.
My kids really want to learn where food comes from. Such a simple thing to let us do.
Ridiculous that we cant even keep a few hens. Everyone has dogs that bark way louder than a chicken anyway.
Why is this even restricted? So many other cities already allow it. La Mesa is falling behind.
Lived here 20 years and its time to allow us to be a bit more self sufficient. Hens are quiet and clean if you take care of them.

Fresh eggs right in my own backyard would be amazing. Please update these old rules.
