In January, Lalinda suffered a major stroke that left him unable to speak and without movement on his right side. Through the efforts of daily physical, occupational and speech therapies, Lalinda has made tremendous progress, but still has a long road ahead of him. As Lalinda nears the end of his time at Mercy Hospital, his family has been looking into various facilities to continue his rehabilitation. Unfortunately, most facilities are geared toward the ederly and people who have strokes later in life and are not set-up for younger people wanting to make a full recovery. However, there are several government run hospitals that specialize in helping younger people recover from brain injuries and paralysis; one of these facilities would be invaluable to Lalinda's recovery process. Lalinda’s family wishes to petition President Obama to ask for assistance to get Lalinda into a specialized government hospital.
