I live next door to La Gorce and I am very interested in getting detailed, written answers on what is going to be done.

PS. for some reason my address is turning up Hallandale, but I live on 49th st.!

2. Who is benefitting from this as most of us who live in this neighborhood think it is unnecessary.

1. Where and with whom did this project originate? We know the WHY. $$$$$$.

Totally against raising N Bay Rd street height

Upper North Bay Road has voiced its concerns to the City by way of a letter asking for a deferment of the project and was turned down. Most voices heard from our HOA have not been positive to the project, everything from the pumping edifices to be erected to the lost of the landscaping creating a barren street impacting the ambience which makes Upper North Bay Road a neighborhood.

I fully agree that this proposed action must be studied further and postponed until all facts, costs, money sources and adequte project schedules can be provided

IF the city honestly was seeking transparency & the cost of the project was / is $500 million , for a few pennies per household , EVERY household would have received a FIRST CLASS LETTER ------the same way Dade County tax bills have been successfully MAILED ! Public announcements have kept those with NO access to computers out of the dialogue. That doesn't apply to me , but reflects a lack of inclusion. The DESIGN BUILD is ludicrous . Contractors want to put the least amount of time , effort & money into the project. We are ENTITLED because of our economic investment & decades of residency , to top quality in those laborers, designers who will be here for 2 years (or longer) . Lets do our utmost to obtain more signatures & involvement from EVERY NEIGHBOR to assure ourselves that when & how this is decided it's based on the BEST --NOT the quickest solution. If State of Florida has to extend their "start date " for Alton Rd, to accommodate hundreds of local homeowners ------NOT our problem ! Louise S. Bauer

To those of you who have recently signed the petition (and to those who signed long ago), Please take a moment to let your friends and neighbors know if they haven't signed the petition. The City is getting ready to award the contract, and we need to meet with them beforehand to put the brakes on this ill conceived plan. Can we all commit to getting our spouses, adult children living here, neighbors, etc., to sign by June 23? That gives us 10 days to get the signatures of everyone in Lakeview. We can probably get another 75 signatures and will try to bring it in front of the Commission one week later.

Raising streets without burying power lines or giving a good reason why it isn't feasible to do at the same time is nuts. Also need to know about tax breaks for homeowners that will have to rebuild their entire home.

I have lived on Lakeview Drive for 28 years and have yet to see significant flooding on that street.

Let's bury power lines

As far as I know, Lakeview does not currently have significant flooding problems during heavy rains or king tides. Can't we postpone this project many years, even decades? In the meantime, any new houses will be built higher by code. Eventually, we will raise the roads, but the newer houses will already be elevated. After all, flooding damages the homes, not the roads.

I own 3 properties on North Bay Road, at 5750, 5860 and 5005 and I'm signing 3 petitions as a result. Thank you

A few additional questions - two borrowed from the Lakeview questions. What independent research studies have been performed to document the environmental effect of the storm water discharge into Biscayne Bay? Has a flushing/circulation study of Biscayne Bay been performed to determine the rate at which the storm water discharge will be dispersed especially in a heavy tropical rain? In hurricane conditions will this cause breach of sea walls? What studies have been done on the impact of the substructure of the roads? Most of our area is landfill. Can it support the weight of the additional material? Will it cause sinkholes, settling?

I fully support this project and we should do everything possible improvements are done as soon as possible. Just for clarification, 1. “Sub-pumps” should be “sump-pumps at resident owned properties” I would also like to know if the City completed a preliminary capital budget and if the City has the funds or sources of funds to fully fund the entire project plus contingencies for unforeseen conditions?
