Lake Street Signs

Thanks, this has always irked me. (I don't like the idea of speed bumps either, though -- that's just a different form of penalizing everyone due to the actions of few. The roads in our neighborhood are terribly bumpy already!).

It is a huge nuisance not to be able to turn in to our own neighborhood. I also know that the signs are a deterrent to speedy cars cutting through to get back onto Lake Street. Nevertheless without a patrol car hidden I see many, many cars cut through and zoom down Mary Street. I'm not sure what the solution is; I like the idea of speed bumps that someone proposed.

keep the no turning except locals (residents and their guests)

I end up cutting through Kelwyn Manor so I can come out and then take a left off of Lake Street on Wilson Street so I can get to where I live on Littlejohn Street. Ridiculous!

This makes so much sense! Would reduce congestion and help my family not have to wait and extra 5 minutes to make a right hand turn home.

I suggest the added note excepting residents be in very small print. That might cut down on non-residents thinking that the rules are now relaxed and trying to use the neighborhood as a cut through. We'd simply spread the word in the neighborhood, and make sure the local police are aware of the change.

We live here. Please allow residents to get out of horrible Lake Street traffic.

People living on Mary Street and surrounding neighborhood streets should be allowed to turn right 4-7P.M. Monday thru Friday.

I strongly support the petition to allow residents to turn right off of Lake St. It's not only fair to residents, it would actually be beneficial to the remaining traffic passing through on Lake St. The current policy is unfair and an ongoing frustration.

I whole-heartedly support this idea! Allowing residents to turn into the neighborhood on the closest entering street would ease traffic for everybody.

I live here, pay taxes to maintain the streets in my neighborhood, and want to use them when Lake St traffic is clogged.

I strongly feel that Margaret St needs to be included in this as well. I have sat in traffic on Lake St for upto 40 mins at times just because I am not allowed to take a right. I also have been ticketed once for taking the right when I first moved in this area assuming that I was included as a resident.

Allowing residence living in this area to exit Lake St earlier could relieve the daily chronic traffic problem and make happier voters

there are so many better ways to address this problem ( is it a problem?) the issue is mainly to avoid having cars speeding down Mary st. well, put in a lower speed limit. do away with the signs . one of those nasty speed bumps might help . stop signs on Mary... for starters. more public transportation; light rail on mass ave, subway extended, and so on...
