I have been following the progress of the Lake Links Trail for several years. I have ridden on some of the completed sections and really hope the stakeholders can reach agreement and finish this wonderful trail.

We have the opportunity to provide a safe pathway around the lake for everyone. Please, please, please don't let this pass us by.

This and the Highway 96 section are a critical last step to complete the Lake Links Trail!

I grew up in WBL & Mahtomedi and ran, biked, and rollerskied around the lake as often as I could convince my mother to let me, given how dangerous it was to have to be on the road for the Dellwood and 96 portion of the loop. Having a safe separated trail through Dellwood along Highway 244 would mean I and my family would be more likely to return to WB/Mahtomedi to live, visit, or pass through while exercising (if it were connected to other trails in the region). Human powered transit and exercise in safe places are essential to having good communities that are safe for kids and for everyone, so I support a trail around WBL

Safe sidewalks and bike lanes are among the most desirable attributes in any community. It will add value to residents immediately, but it will have a long-lasting impact when WBL becomes known as a destination where residents can safely move from Willernie to downtown WBL to Tally’s, and to visit friends along the lake. We cannot miss this opportunity to use this funding.

My primary concern is safety. I drive through Dellwood a lot and have had too many close encounters with law-abiding cyclists in that stretch. We need a safe corridor for non-vehicle traffic.

Please consider the health and entertainment value to citizens of completing this loop, and the importance of supporting the investment already made.

I’ve biked around WBL most of my life, but no more- it is too dangerous. It is time to do the right thing. Get this trail done!

The results of completing this trail will be profound. I want to be able to share this awesome (completed) trail with my 1 year old daughter.

This safe trail through Dellwood will benefit our community forever. We are surrounded with a beautiful lake and neighborhoods and it is up to us to preserve the lives of those who will use the trail. Blessings need to be shared!

Let’s make our community safer, healthier, and more connected by completing this path. Some of the benefits are clear, while others can’t be measured by data at this time, but are no less important. Thank you.

Please find a way to come together on making this stretch of road safer for those who are not in a car. I have biked and walked along this route because it is beautiful, always knowing that when I do, I am doing so at great risk. That's because the only option to pass this way is to be in the same lane as the cars. There is no shoulder, and the pavement in many places along this two lane, narrow road is in extremely bad shape, forcing anyone who rides there to swing farther into the lane of traffic or risk being thrown from her bike from hitting a pot hole. It would be a tremendous gift to the community to be able to safely connect through this area, and a completely unnecessary tragedy to see someone hurt or killed because policy makers can't or won't find a compromise that satisfies homeowners and citizens alike. I strongly encourage you to keep trying in good faith to work through the issues and do the right thing. Thanks.

Very needed. Biking or walking on some of those roads is currently impossible or very dangerous.

The recent improvements to the Lake Links project have allowed and encouraged families, seniors, walkers, runners, and bikers to enjoy the lake and its natural beauty. The trail is a community treasure and deserves the attention of community leaders to finish the project as envisioned.

I have had close calls with cars while bicycling through Dellwood. The drivers are fast and the road is narrow with blind areas. It’s time for Dellwood to step up and make it safe and friendly for all.

There’s no excuse to not get this done given funding already allocated to improvements! Use the funds to make this stretch safer for all to enjoy this portion of the Lake Links trail.

Why would you not want to make the trail safer?
