I think it would have an extremely detrimental affect on the community.

My husband and I have travelled to this area numerous times. It would break our hearts to see this happen. Please protect the beauty and integrity of the land and those who live upon it and find another solution.

This development is with out a doubt is disregarding the people's rights in this small peaceful village to continue to live their lives peacefully and to have a livelihood through tourism. Should it ever be allowed to go ahead...what's good or honourable about that decision...alternatives need to be sought which don't destroy peoples' lives.

I'm not against pylons and substations per se. I think it's important and necessary to invest in power infrastructure. But it's also important and necessary to ensure that peoples lives are not blighted by having infrastructure placed on top of them. Bare moorland can be designated as an SSSI but it can also be undesignated! There is still a relatively large amount of bare moorland in the Scottish Highlands relative to areas of human habitation!

Proper and meaningful engagement with the local community is urgently needed which is why I'm signing this petition.

I think that SSE are genuinely committed to better community engagement. Here is an opportunity to demonstrate this by listening to those who would be most affected by this proposal.

I understand that we do need a high voltage line but does it have to be so close to a residential and business area in what is also a stunning part of the county of Sutherland?

Please respect the wishes of the people of Lairg. They have made a vibrant and hardworking community. It would be tragic there were to be a new Clearance.

You must be able to relocate this! This will affect everyone in the village and surrounding area. This will impact on villagers, wildlife and nature. A disgrace if this goes ahead.
