We are corresponding with the National Federation of High Schools Sports Foundation and U.S. Lacrosse to re-visit "their" Mandated Safety Regulations for Girl's Lacrosse, which at this time, DO NOT REQUIRE PROTECTIVE SAFETY GLOVES AND HARD HELMETS. We are requesting the same Safety Protective Gloves and Helmets that the boys are mandated to wear. The more signatures that we are able to obtain and forward to these organizations, the better the chances are that the appropriate actions will be taken to ensure the safety of women athletes. Please sign the petition to support our plight

On December 20, 2008, our daughter received a compound fracture and dislocation of her right thumb, due to stick contact during her indoor Lacrosse game. If she was permitted to wear the same protective gloves as the boys are mandated to wear, this would never have happened to her. She has been playing Lacrosse for the past 4 years and during that time, she and her teammates have encountered "egg-size lumps" and concussions from stick contact to their heads. The boys are mandated to wear Hard Safety Helmets while girls are only permitted to wear goggles.
