I'm in 13th grade, and used to have a space were I could work peacefully in the MMC; the top floor. Now as access was granted to all secondary, the MMC has become extremely load, making it hard to focus. So then during my free periods I would work in the caf as it no quieter. However if the policy is passed that we cannot have electronics at any point in time in the caf, where are we going to work peacefully? I think the fact to not allow electronics during break and lunch, fine. However any other time of the day, we should have acces to be able to study as well using laptops or phones. I understand that it is crustal to socialize at school, but we are at school to study and educate our selfs! The use of phones in school area should be allowed, I receive all my email on my phone, to be able to know as soon as possible what's going on. Therefore if the MMC doesn't have a restricted area for IB students, I think that the caf should allow electronic devices at all times except for break and lunch periods. I hope my arguments will be taken in consideration, regards.

I think the main problem with the new policies is the lack of communication, as well as miscommunication. What many people are not aware of is that the rules in regards to no phones in the hallways and having phones confiscated, is still in talks. It has not been fully implemented yet. Furthermore, I think certain people are disaplayed as being unapproachable and unopen to change, and sadly rumours spread quickly thus leading to confusion and anger that is perhaps aimed at the wrong people. Though the rules should have been discussed more thoroughly with students first, we need to be more proactive about the whole situation to attain the changes we want to see happen.

I'm saying that I understand why they dont want technology in the caf (they dont want everyone to be glued to their phones and laptops instead of talking, we can all see this happening to the younger years who play on their computers outside the MMC) but i think this should only apply at lunch times. And no, I'm not a staff

Although I am not happy about the new rule changes, some of the comments on here are outrages and disrespectful towards the staff. They didn't put these new rules in place just because they felt like been mean, they obviously thought it was the best alternative. If we hear what the reasons are behind these changes and negotiate in a calm manner instead of shaming and calling them names on social media, maybe we would get somewhere. With that said, i think we should be able to use technology in the caf when its not lunch time, so we can somewhere other than the MMC to work.

This is just ridiculous. Electronics should be allowed. It's not as if a lot of people use it.

As a 13th grader who is putting serious effort into my studies, I no longer have any where that I can efficiently work, which is a serious issue. I feel that it is imperative that the upper floor of the MMC is returned to 12 and 13 grade only. It was a ridiculous change
