I would vote for Labour in Scotland if they vow to sort out their women issue, and I am passionate supporter of independence.

These rights are essential to keep women and girls safe and participating in society. I can’t believe they have to fought for in the UK in 2023.

Staggered that it has come to this, that we are having to fight for the right to have our sex recognised as real, relevant and important to our safety, dignity, privacy and health.

The trade union movement is currently failing women. Sex-based rights are *essential* to women's safety, dignity, privacy and to ensure our political participation. It's also a betrayal of the foundations of socialism to ignore women's unique experience under capitalism. The British left needs to sort itself out.

If Labour aren’t firm on the issue of women’s hard-won sex-based rights and protections they will continue to lose women, and elections.

Women’s rights and safety are under attack from many directions and the Labour Party is doing nothing to help. They sit on the fence and seem to deny biological science.
At Trans Pride in London on 8th July 2023, a speaker was seen addressing the crowd using a PA system. He said: “If you see a TERF, punch them in the fucking face.”
The speech was captured on video by Dazed, and re-posted on the Pride in London Instagram. It has been widely shared on Twitter.
The speaker was Sarah Jane Baker (formerly Alan Baker), a trans-identified male with convictions for torture, kidnapping and attempted murder who was released on licence in 2019.
If this isn’t a hate crime I don’t know what is and if it hadn’t been for some Women’s Geoup his behaviour and others would have gone unchallenged. Even then he just said it was a joke, no one in their right mind would think this was a joke. Incel groups are on the rise as is msyogny on the Internet.

Well done on on all your work to ensure that the labour party espouses a policy that reflects the reality of biological sex and the reality of what is actually in the Equality Act.

This is a good way forward for women.
