This is an issue which Will determine which party I voted for. I voted for Keir Starmer in the leadership contest on the basis that he didn’t sign the pledge that the other candidates did. The Labour Party needs to stand up for women’s rights. At the moment it feels as though harm, distress and lack of privacy and dignity for women is acceptable collateral damage.

Rosie Duffield is my MP and I strongly support her on this.

I have recently left the Labour Party because of this issue. It needs strong leadership to expel the bullies who are cheering on rape and death threats to women for speaking their truth. Labour will never be electable until they recognise that this behaviour is unpalatable to 99% of the electorate.

I cannot vote Labour again until they stand for women and our sex based rights, right now the Labour Party is driving me, and many others like me, into the arms of the Tory party

Women deserve rights based on their sex

The Labour leadership are no doubt hoping this issue is going to go away. It isn't. It's time they stood up for their female members and against the minority of extremist woman-hating activists who have bullied Rosie Duffield and others.

It is about time this issue is resolved. I will not for a party that you not stand up for the rights of women and free speech

I have always until now been a labour voter and supporter, including acting as a workers’ rep in educational organisations. I now feel politically homeless as the Labour Party have thrown women and feminism under a bus, and unsupported at work where I am under pressure to abandon feminist principles.

I will never vote for a Labour Party that puts the rights of men above those of women. That is what trans rights do. Transwomen are transwomen, they are NOT female they do not belong in our single sex spaces.

I left the party, because I will not fund or campaign for misogyny. Women suffer biologically-founded oppression; statistically, male bodies pose a risk to women's bodies - a risk not altered in either direction by an asserted gender identity. To demand women ignore those facts to benefit male born people is misogyny, plain and simple. Of course trans people need protection and provision. So do adult human females. To say that the only women whose rights and feelings matter are those born with penises is simply classic misogyny under a new label.

I left after being told there was no space in the Labour Party for someone who believes that sex matters, who believes that gender identity is not the same as sex

Unlikely to vote labour again if local MP and others will not uphold women's rights.

It appears to be obvious now that the Tories not Labour, with all their faults are sadly the party for women now. Labour wondering, why you lost the last general election? This petition might be a clue. You are throwing the very women who have supported you through thick and thin, many of whom did the majority of all the grass roots work for your party under the bus for a so called minority group who, on closer inspection are no way near as under privileged as they claim to be.

Signing as a doctor, feminist and mother. Male rapists do not belong in women’s prisons. Men should not be competing in women’s sports. Women are entitled to single sex refuges, changing rooms and toilets. Self ID is a voyeurs, flashers and rapists charter allowing all men free access to women’s spaces on their mere claim of being transgender.

How dare your FEMALE MPs say that rapists should be in female prisons on the rapists' say so? How utterly depressing that they are willing to trample over vulnerable women to get a piece of the action. Unforgivable.

Labour must stand up to maintain the sex based rights and protections of women and girls or remain an electoral dead duck. The party must recognise that 'as' is materially different to 'is', and that the creation of a legal loophole in the form self id must be rejected as not only unworkable but deeply damaging and dangerous, particularly to children, LGBT people and any man or woman who may be affected by the skewing of statistics and data that the introduction of an easily accessible and legal form of identity fraud represents.

The violent threats, employer-hounding and doxxing directed at women and their families when women speak up about access to our own rights have made me too afraid to use my full name, CLP and profession. I'm ashamed that the Labour Party is pursuing policies which result in women being terrified into submission.

Just think how far things have gone when saying you support women’s rights to single sex spaces (once an entirely uncontroversial statement) now gets you labelled a transphobic bigot. It’s positively Kafkaesque
