As a part of a science outreach project our job was to make a change.
A genetically modified organism (GMO) is any organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques.
Currently, the U.S. Food and Drug Association does not require a single safety study, does not mandate the labeling of GMO’s, and allows companies to put GMO food on the market without even notifying the agency.
Our goal is to have food products that have been genetically modified labeled; meats, dairy, etc.
